SYMACHARYA is a noble initiative of recognizing and felicitating teachers of schools, faculty members of colleges/universities and educational leaders of schools/colleges for their respective innovations in making learning effective and enjoyable for the students. The innovations are defined as the use of new strategies, techniques, practices, products and services that makes the learning easy. Innovation, mainly, in teaching, implies new ways of teaching - use of videos or audios, PowerPoint presentations, Quiz, etc.
This event has generated considerable interest among the teaching community members spread across the length and breadth of this country. An overwhelming number of applications were received for these awards throughout the country such as Tamil Nadu, Gujurat, Puna, Delhi, Goa, etc. Also, the applications were received from various streams like engineering, chemistry, management, economics, etc. Each application was carefully scrutinized by a panel of experts for selecting the worthy ones.
While selecting the candidates for the award, innovative practices and outcomes have been given consideration. To make the award representative, efforts have been made to select candidates from all regions, with weightage to those working in remote and backward region. The recommendation is based on overall assessment of the candidate towards the promotion of education.
Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Noida gave away the awards to four teachers from schools, four faculty members from colleges/universities, and two educational leaders on February 21, 2020. On this occasion, the chief guest, Prof. Ashok Pankaj, gave away the prizes to the winners. Dr. Pankaj was joined by Prof. (Dr.) Anubha Vashisht (Director, SCMS Noida) and Prof. Bharti Wadhwa (Deputy Director, SCMS Noida).
Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Ashok Pankaj emphasized the need for more such events, which can help put the focus back on the state of education. He was appreciative of the efforts put in by SCMS Noida in organizing this event.
Prof. (Dr.) Anubha Vashisht highlighted that SCMS Noida would continue to organize this event every year for recognizing and rewarding the teachers. She further added that we specifically have decided not to apply any registration charges for this event to enable more teachers to apply for the same.
Dr. Bharti Wadhwa, in her vote of thanks, congratulated the winners and expressed the hope that the winners will continue to do good work in the education system.
